Potholes are quickly becoming everyone’s worst enemies at the moment!
With the roads being in such bad condition lately, there is an awful lot of damage being done to our cars. But, just because we can’t see certain damage, such as a popped tyre, it doesn’t mean there isn’t more severe damage being done.
So, how can we tell if we have further damage?
Each vehicle has shocks and struts – these control the spring and suspension motion keeping the tyres in contact with the road. They affect steering, stability and braking, so any damage done to these can produce a few driving hazards >>>
The vehicle rolls or sways on turning
Vehicles front end dips or dives when braking
Vehicles rear end squats when speeding up
Steering keeps pulling or pushing
The automobile thumps when going over bumps
Vehicle shakes or vibrates
The automobile sits lower in either the front or rear
Loss of directional control when stopping suddenly
Leaking, or signs of physical damage, such as rusting
The automobile bounces or moves sideways on a rough roadway
Do not ever hesitate to get your vehicle checked over after driving over a pothole. Not only is it better to be safe than sorry, but, it could prevent any further and long lasting damage to your car.
